GCOM 2026

The 6th GCOM was the largest Global Conference on Myositis to date. There were almost 700 participants from around 50 countries! The GCOM was exceptionally productive, characterised by effective collaboration, meaningful exchange and a shared commitment to advancing knowledge within the global myositis community!

iMyoS Honorary Member

Professor Ingrid Lundberg was honoured by iMyoS as its first honorary member at the GCOM. Her decades of dedication, her research and her leadership have significantly advanced our understanding of myositis and improved the lives of countless patients worldwide.
In recognition of her exceptional contributions, iMyoS has awarded her the first honorary lifetime membership. She was presented with a framed medal which explicitly identifies her as the first honorary member of iMyoS. The myositis community is grateful for her enduring influence and the standard of excellence she represents.

Awarded Board Member

Dr Peter Korsten, the former vice-chair and secretary and founding member of iMyoS, has been awarded a medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the society and his role in the iMyoS board. From 2019 to 2021, he served as vice-chair, followed by his role as secretary from 2021 to 2023. Since then, he has continued to support iMyoS as an associate board member.
His dedication and commitment have played a key role in both the founding and the continued growth of iMyoS.
